Using CBD to Heal Adrenal Fatigue
What is Adrenal Fatigue?
In today’s climate, we are constantly behind a veil of stressors seen, and unseen. Whether its technological, emotional, or in the thin air around us (We’re looking at you 5G!) — we are exposed. Usually we want to do a million things at once. When we are overloaded, our minds can lose track of all the legwork our bodies are doing, and that can lead to an imbalance in our adrenal and endocrine systems resulting in an overproduction and depletion of resources.
Adrenals, Kidneys, and The Pituitary Gland — Take care of them!
In Chinese medicine, adrenal fatigue is regarded as a deficiency involving the kidneys. Within the body, the adrenal glands rest directly on top of the kidneys, and both are part of the body’s NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) Stress Response system. The kidneys are part of the NEM’s detoxification circuit where it is responsible for clearing out harmful toxins or pathogens in the body, whereas the adrenals are part of the hormonal circuit.
Your adrenals produce several hormones needed for stress response. The primary stress horomone is cortisol which manages how your body uses carbohydrates, keeps inflammation down, regulates your blood pressure, increases blood sugar and controls your sleep cycle. Cortisol even boosts your energy so that you can aptly handle stress.
The pineal gland (aka the home of your Third Eye Chakra) in the brain has a direct correlation to the adrenal glands through the Hypothalamic Pituitary Axis. With repeated exposure to stressors, this axis sustains its activation, thus increasing cortisol levels, and throwing horomone production out of balance, as well as your general sense of calm, well-being and alignment.
A large amount of endocannabinoid receptors are located within the system of this Hypothalamic Pituitary Axis. A primary function of the endocannabinoid signaling system is to maintain or recover homeostasis following psychological and physiological threats. — When CDB is introduced into the system, it causes positive interference along the axis and within the adrenal glands, slowing down the production of cortisol and other horomones, aiding in proper regulation throughout the adrenal system.
When you nourish the Adrenals, Kidneys, and the Pituitary gland, you are on your way to heal your systems of adrenal fatigue and chronic stress.

How to use CBD for your Adrenals
CBD has the ability to interfere with cortisol production in such a way that it slows down the production process, stabalizing overactive adrenals. If you’re constantly in Fight-or-Flight mode, taking a comfortable dose of CBD will help you reset your threshold for stress, giving you more room for healing your adrenals.
First step– figure out your dosage. What is a comfortable level of CBD to ingest? If this is your first time using CBD, we recommend choosing an arbitrary dosage from 5mg-25mg. Take the same amount for a week and if you experience a relief of symptoms, stick with it! If you feel nothing — increase your dosage and stick to it for another week. The CBD is slowly activating your endocannabinoid recepetors and needs time to be introduced to your body! Before long, you will be able to understand the subtleties of your dosage and innately respond and adjust based on other external factors such as diet, water intake, sleep, etc. The base factors for reactions to CBD are truly unique to each individual so patience is key! Listen to your body above all! You may find that your tolerence decreases as you build up your system with CBD, or you may find otherwise! Your relationship to CBD is unique.
