THE CURRENT Sir Ken Robinson “Schools Kill Creativity”
This is a great Ted Talks on creativity, and I think Sir Robinson is spot on! It is sad that creativity is zapped out of our childrens' bodies in school, and things that are considered important are not necessarily that important, especially to certain children depending upon their interests and talents. Especially enjoy when he starts talking about how dance is as important if not more important than math. I enjoy and always promote teaching music dance drawing etc, and when a child, or an adult for that matter, wants to learn guitar I will show them in 10 minutes, a few chords, and how to get comfortable with the guitar, and they come away with the thought, "hey I can play the guitar". A small amount of creative learning, especially at a young age, can go a really long way!
