Yacon Powder is made from a potato-like root that has been farmed in the lush mountain valleys of Peru for centuries. Often called the Apple of the Earth, these roots are sliced thin, and sun-dried, before being stone-ground into a powder.
Yacon has a wonderful sweet taste and a naturally high Inulin content, with only about half the calories of average sugar cane sources.
It is considered the world’s richest source of fructooligosaccharides (FOS), a unique type of sugar (inulin) that can’t be absorbed by the body.
FOS acts as a prebiotic, serving as food for the friendly bacteria in the colon.
It provides health benefits including:
