The Importance of Drinking Water
Drinking high-quality healthy water is just as, if not MORE important than eating high-quality naturally grown foods.
On average, the human body is made up of 70% water, meaning is it absolutely necessary to stay well hydrated for optimum health. All of your internal systems will work better, and you’ll FEEL better.

Do you know what’s in the water you’re drinking?
Your water provider may be required to treat your water, and hopefully it’s done effectively so! However, it is best not to rely on them at all times. Things like your house’s old pipes, nearby construction which involves drilling (fracking), and other non-reported malfunctionings of the treatment plant could put your water at risk. We recommend checking out your water score at ewg.org/tapwater by entering your Zip Code.
According to EWG’s Tap Water Database:
⦁ Legal does not necessarily equal safe. Getting a passing grade from the federal government does not mean the water meets the latest health guidelines.
⦁ Legal limits for contaminants in tap water have not been updated in almost 20 years.
⦁ The best way to ensure clean tap water is to keep pollution out of source water in the first place.
And that’s where we have your back at High Vibe! We can help you clean the water that you’re ingesting every day with the World’s Best Water Filters! (Hint: They are Berkey’s & they are In-Store-Only)
In addition to purifying your drinking water, we carry filtered shower heads so you can have softer water that won’t leave your skin dry and flaky. (Those you can get here)
Hard vs. Soft, Rule of Thumb:
In effect, the water you drink should be hard and the water you clean with should be soft.
When drinking water is healthiest for you (and best tasting!), it will contain a variety of trace minerals that are beneficial to your health. The mineral content causes this water to be HARD.
SOFT water is great for cleaning. The lack of hard minerals allows soap & cleaning molecules to perform freely without particle obstructions. Soft water doesn’t dry out your skin and doesn’t leave behind spots on your dishes or limescale in your shower. To achieve soft water in the shower, use a filtered shower head and eliminate chlorine and hard mineral build up! Soft water WILL make your skin feel softer and a bit slippery even!
Back on to your drinking water:
What’s in a Berkey Filter and why can it remove so many contaminants?
In the simplest terms, Berkey’s Black Filters are made of granulated media, so compact and with a pore size so small, that contaminants are trapped within the filter– never making it into your drinking water! It removes toxins and microbes, as well as “legal” treatment plant additives such as chlorine and fluoride.
Other filters, on the market, are not nearly as dense and do not come close to removing the 200+ contaminants Berkey has been independently tested to remove.
The Berkey Filter system keeps the beneficial minerals in your drinking water so your water will still taste good! And hey extract harmful heavy metals such as lead and mercury as well as sedimentary minerals such as iron oxide– they even raise the pH of water by 0.5-1.0 on average!
In store at High Vibe or over the phone, systems range from $219-$308 with the option of adding fluoride filters to your system for $59. Every Berkey includes the two Black Berkey Filters (6,000-gallon capacity), so you’re looking at having high quality purified water averaging around 4-5¢ per gallon.
The black filters can be washed hundreds of times with a simple scouring pad for 5 minutes under running tap water, and the fluoride filters you purchase from us must be changed once a year or after 1,000 gallons– whichever comes first.
Note: the Berkey System is completely stand alone. It requires no electricity or special faucet system. Just add water and let gravity do the work!
These are the benefits of drinking filtered water from your at-home filtration system:
⦁ enhances your hydration
⦁ better for the environment
⦁ reduces tap odor
⦁ improves skin health
⦁ no heavy metals and treatment chemicals from water
⦁ no microbes or toxins
⦁ reduces acid reflux
⦁ improves quality of coffee and tea, food
⦁ may have anti-oxidant properties
⦁ because it tastes better, you’ll be drinking more of it!
⦁ reduces carbon footprint from plastic bottles
In this case, the benefits TRULY outweigh the costs. Invest in your health by upping your water quality!
